My teaching practice complements my art practice. I value and grow from the inspiration students share.
In my teaching, I prioritize equipping students with the technical and conceptual skills necessary to express their unique voices. I encourage them to observe their world critically, questioning what they see and responding with intentional craft. This approach nurtures their creativity and enhances their ability to communicate through art.
My teaching philosophy is deeply intertwined with my art practice, rooted in exploration, community, and the ongoing pursuit of growth. I strive to create an environment where students feel empowered to experiment and engage with the world around them. By fostering a culture of curiosity and collaboration, I aim to help students navigate their artistic journeys with confidence and purpose.
I have had the privilege of instructing in diverse settings, including community art centers, K-12 schools, community colleges, and higher education institutions. My areas of specialty encompass many printmaking methods—such as screen, intaglio, relief, and monoprinting—as well as their expanded and digital applications, drawing, and creative risk-taking.
