cold lapse

cold lapse, MFA Thesis Exhibition (Gallery View), Gallery of Visual Arts, University of Montana, Missoula, March 201

"cold lapse" addresses the abstract notions of time and loss. Drawing from postmodern perspectives on time, the vernacular of the grid, and postminimalist aesthetics, this body of work explores the passage of time and the resulting sensations of absence.

Inspired by the duration of a slow drip, the cycle of breath, and physical gestures, I used these elements as markers for fleeting moments, shaping the forms displayed in this exhibition.
